Get to know EMC DZ

At EMC D&Z, our work is rooted in our four foundational values – safety, diversity, integrity and success— and grounded by our promise, “We do what we say.®” They serve as a steady guide for the company as we continually take on new challenges, new responsibilities and new roles.

To us, these values are more than words. We live them every day. Check out our employee spotlight, featuring Jon Thompson, who shared with us what safety means to him!

Keep an eye out next week for our next employee spotlight.

When did you join EMC? I joined EMC in February of 2020, initially as a Project Controls Analyst, and since moved into my role as Project Coordinator.

What does safety mean to you? Safety is a culture that should resonate with everyone, every day. We all want to go home at the end of the day and we all want co-workers to go home to their families too. By bringing awareness and being proactive to our surroundings we can continue to work safely while being productive. Safety is always the number one priority in my mind as I want to go home every day.

How do you practice safety every day? If you see something, say something. By identifying hazards early, you can prevent a safety incident. Safety should be practiced everyday, not only at work but on the roads and at home too.

How do you observe safety across EMC D&Z? Making sure pre-jobs briefs are done prior to starting work. We observe the safety topic each week and seek to understand safety risks that our team encounters everyday in the field.
