Quality Assurance Manager
Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager has the overall responsibility to ensure that the company’s Quality programs are implemented and in compliance with all regulatory, company and customer requirements, and to provide Quality direction, consultation and support to client site(s).
Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning, strategizing and ensuring the implementation of quality systems and processes to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization
Review and Approve EMC Work Packages, including creation of Inspection and Test Plans
Ensures, through planned periodic internal audits with the Manager, Quality Assurance, that all departments involved implement IMS and Pressure Boundary.
Leads a process improvement program that allows the company to maintain or surpass industry leaders
Ensures that the company's services, processes, procedures, and facilities are in compliance with the company's Quality Management System and policies, and are reviewed and updated
Lead the development of Quality Programs as needed
Provides technical support to ensure that customer requirements, codes, specifications and Quality Standards are met
Ensures the promotion of awareness of customer requirement throughout the organization
Completes process measurement initiatives, including scorecards and other metrics
Identifies and promotes industry best practices; shares best practices across the company
Develops standards and methods for inspections, testing and evaluations
Liaison with clients, suppliers on quality related matters and is responsible for supplier audits
Ensures effective management of nonconformities and requests for corrective and preventive actions
Manages Approved Supplier List to ensure that supplier qualifications are proactively addressed prior to expiry
Provides advice and guidance to procurement staff with respect to the interpretation of supplier audit results and the impact on purchasing strategies, as well as the application and interpretation of QA programs
Leads in the review and drafting of requirements for quality in proposals and contracts
Develops and conducts training for employees to ensure that quality programs, policies, procedures, processes and practices are understood and properly implemented
Builds effective business relationships to achieve company goals
Qualifies the inspection and testing personnel
Reports on Quality, performance and improvements to management
Review and Approve Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
Will maintain trending reports for Site NCR’s and CAR’s
Attend site meetings as required by the Customer
Conduct External audits as required
Attend EMC Management Meetings
Job Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Engineering preferred. Related education in Construction Management, Project Management or discipline related certificate (Red Seal or other) will also be considered
Electrical and/or mechanical/civil engineering experience is an asset.
8-10+ years of position-related experience (nuclear, or closely related industry)
NCA-4000/NQA-1 or equivalent qualifications required
Thorough understanding of CSA N286, ISO 9001, CSA N299/Z299, N285, B51, B52, Ontario Electric Code. Knowledge of ASME Series of Codes, CSA Series of Codes.
Experience in leading audits preferred
Superior problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact positively with all levels inside and outside the organization and in a team environment, while managing employees
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively organize and present material to stakeholders and management.
Thorough knowledge of nuclear power plant systems, components and interrelated activities
